Eng. Burcu Berrak

Burcu Berrak graduated from the University of Istanbul in 2000 with the profession of Marine Transportation and Management Engineering. She worked as an intern/post fixture in the chartering department of Bora Shipping for three years during her studies. After graduating from the university, she started her professional career as a Maritime Transport Specialist at Borusan Logistics, where she focused on the transport of containers and open cargoes in the logistics sector. In 2001, she joined the Dutch company Frans Maas International Logistics, where she worked as a sea freight manager. From 2003 to 2014, she worked as a claims executive and claims director at Omur Marine Ltd, which acts as a local correspondent for international P&I Clubs in Turkiye, dealing with various maritime claims. In January 2014, she joined Turk P&I Insurance as a Claims Manager and was promoted to Claims Group Manager in 2022. As well as managing claims, Burcu Berrak was actively involved in business development team of Turk P&I. She joined Atlas P&I team in May,2023 as a managing director.

She is a board member of the International Women's Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Turkiye and Vice President of the Istanbul University Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering (DUIM-MED) Alumni Association.
